roadtrip to devils tower!

note: LOADS of pictures!
& many pictures w/o people in it.
dunno why but we took very few pics of ourselves. =x

this was taken from a picture.
we din really see those bears by the sign,
wish we did though.
=p

thats our destination!
devils tower,
US's 1st national monument.

this is the near the east entrance of yellowstone,
that's rich,
our driver for the 2 days..

the entrance to the lodge.
we passed by to use the rest room,
& to stretch our legs.
hehe.

their cabins..

our roadtrip partners,
rich & cheng (left to right).

guess their age?
rich's 32.
cheng's 29.

they are practically our elder bro.
and they have volunteered as teachers in africa before!
and....
rich's going back to law school,
cheng is taking his masters in developmental economics.
say WOW....

i think to them,
we are really kids.
opps.

we stopped for a picnic @ this picnic area.
felt kind of guilty,
coz we forgot to sign up for our box lunches,
due to the west yellowstone outing the night before.
opps.
so we had theirs...

rich's car.
honda civic,
with a sun top.

scenary along the drive to cody.

buffalo tongue!
its a shape along the mountain la,
not the real thing.
hehe.

me with the scenary in front of the buffulo tongue thingy.

laogong with the view at the opposite side!

and finally after a looooong drive.

a peep at devils tower!
(from our campsite)

our tents.
the left: rich's & cheng's
the right: zhugong's & zhupo's

another view of devils tower at the visitor centres entrance.

thats the various view of the natural wonder.
we hiked the 1 point something miles loop to get a 360 view of it.
not bad.
there are people rock climbing up the vertical slope.
i dun think i can EVER do that.

devils tower as we were leaving for dinner.
tried a small town 15 mins drive from devils tower.
but they were all closed.
their towns only has like 200 to 300 pple.
real small!
to make us feel worse,
the only places open were pubs.
AND.
21 years & above only.
=.=

we went back to have sandwiches.
*guilty guilty*

our tent.

our camp site.
B5.

entrance into cody!
another town 3 hrs drive from yellowstone.

lunched at granny's family dinner =p

charlies grilled sandwich with potato salad.

the food was goooood.
=p

next up was buffulo bill's historical centre.
buffulo bill = william cody
the founder of cody,
the town we were in.

free admission to xanterra employees!

the above summerizes the places we went to in the historical centre.

the scenic drive back to yellowstone from cody.
and we stopped for dinner at a lodge in cooke's city.

thats the interior of the lodge.
its kind of ex though.
maybe coz its next to yellowstone.

had a fulfilling dinner before beginning the final drive back;
to old faithful.

this time round we entered through the northeast entrance.

and guess what?
we saw a black bear walked by our car!
somewhere near roosevelt village.
it was a major OMG.
some pple dun see bears the entire season they work in yellowstone!
and one walked past our car,
and past laogong's car door.
*faint*

BUT BUT BUT.
our camera started to slow.
it slumbered into the tall grass at the side of the road.
*damn*
why can't the side of the road be a meadow?!

hehe i think thats all the photos i have.
its a loooong post.
